Insecticide-free and poison-free pest control options
Prefer to avoid insecticides or rodent poison? Discuss the pest problem, your household and the options that may be suitable.
What do these options mean?
Insecticide-free insect control uses physical measures rather than insecticidal products. Poison-free rodent control avoids rodenticide. Neither description means every method is risk-free or suitable for every infestation. We will be clear about what is included and where another approach may be needed.
Insecticide-free options for insect problems
Depending on the pest, affected materials and extent of the problem, a plan may include targeted steam, physical removal, cleaning guidance, suitable monitoring or ways to reduce hiding places and access. For bed bugs, mattress encasements and monitoring may support a wider plan.
Steam treats the places it reaches and is not the same as heating an entire room. Monitoring shows activity but is not necessarily a treatment by itself. Some infestations need a combined approach or further visits.
Poison-free options for mice and rats
Inspect and identify entry points
We assess signs of activity and possible access routes before proposing the work.
Proofing and prevention
Where suitable, we can seal identified entry points as part of an assessed plan. The timing matters: simply closing holes without understanding activity can leave rodents trapped inside concealed areas.
Traps and monitoring
Where appropriate and acceptable to you, protected traps and monitoring may be included without using poison. Traps still need careful positioning and regular checks.

We explain what to look for after the work and what monitoring or return visits are included in your agreed service. No method can guarantee that pests will never return.
What if rodenticide is needed?
We will explain the reason and the precautions before treatment. Products must be used according to their authorised instructions, with placements assessed for the property and access by children, pets and other animals.
Keeping bait out of reach is important, but it does not make poison harmless. Pets can also be exposed through poisoned rodents. Do not move bait or traps; follow the technician’s instructions.
Is this suitable for a family home?
Family considerations are part of the assessment, not an afterthought. Tell us about children, babies and pets when we speak. We will explain any preparation, areas to avoid, whether anyone needs to leave during treatment, when areas can be used again and what aftercare is needed.
We will not promise that a product or method is universally safe. We will give you a clear explanation of the proposed approach and its precautions.

Not always. Suitability depends on the pest, where it is active and the extent of the problem. We will explain the limitations rather than promise an unsuitable treatment.
Does poison-free mean harmless to children and pets?
No method is automatically harmless. Traps, steam equipment and proofing work each need appropriate precautions.
Can I stay at home during the visit?
That depends on the work. We will explain access and any temporary exclusion or re-entry requirements for the assessed treatment.
Will I have to choose the treatment myself?
No. Tell us your priorities and we will explain the options and recommended plan. You decide whether to proceed after the scope and price are agreed.
