Record a new sign by date, exact location and type, then compare it with the visit report. One sighting, noise or mark does not automatically show that treatment succeeded or failed. Its meaning depends on the pest, method, area and timing.
Use a comparison log
Keep the original report beside a simple table: date and time, room, exact surface, observed sign, photograph or specimen, and anything changed since the visit. Distinguish an insect from skin marks, sound, damage or droppings. Do not handle unknown material to make the entry complete.
Mark whether the location was inspected or treated and whether it was accessible. Note cleaning, repairs, moved belongings, new deliveries, pet visits or another product used. These facts help the technician interpret the change; they are not admissions of fault.
If a device was moved or damaged accidentally, record it and leave it alone. Do not reset traps, open bait stations or add spray.
Report the pattern that changed
“Activity continues” is less useful than “one insect captured on the living-room sill, three days after a bedroom visit; living room was outside scope”. Likewise, a noise at the opposite end of a flat should not be presented as proof that the original route failed.
Ask what the planned follow-up was intended to decide and whether the new sign changes access. Send only necessary photographs through the agreed route. Keep the specimen labelled if already safely contained.
The follow-up report should compare evidence, state areas seen, record actions and explain the next review. Avoid asking for an unlimited all-clear from a limited visit.
